The same judge added that what Wilson said in cross-examination was a “complete lie” because he had misled the court.

Wilson appeared in the capital’s court during his sentencing hearing where he was described by his lawyer Bethan Rogers as a “very, very fragile young man”.

She described her actions as “completely twisted and utterly wrong”, but alluded to the number of positive references from friends and family. He has also been described as “talented and intelligent”.

The court heard from Ms Rogers that Wilson had struggled with mental health issues at the time of the rapes and experienced a ‘whirlwind of everything that was wrong’.

However, Judge Karim Ezzat reminded Wilson, of Pasture Close, Doncaster that he was not the victim.

He said: ‘You engaged in conduct which resulted in you being charged with criminal harassment.

“You created a fake persona online. Things progressed the moment you booked a hotel.

“You deceived the plaintiff. He did not give you consent to have sex with you. He believed he was having sex with someone else.

“You are not the victim here.”

Wilson was sentenced to four years in prison and given an indefinite restraining order. He will also be placed on the sex offender registry indefinitely.
