Most of the classics will be played in May as excitement builds for the mid-June premiere of Othello (Otelo). The opera Giuseppe Verdi will premiere at the Janáček Theater on June 17. The adaptation of the Shakespearean play will be performed in the original Italian, with Czech, English and German subtitles.
Additional performances will take place on June 19, 21, 28.
Cinderella (Popelka) will be at the center of the ballet in May. The famous Sergei Prokofiev ballet will premiere on May 13 and will run for several performances at the Mahen Theater.
It is suitable for children aged 6 and over.
For those who understand a little Czech and want to know more about this city, The Stories of Brno (Brněnské pověsti) In Theater Reduta presents the humorous stories and legends about the city. It is a room for school children and their parents; but it might also appeal to those who know Czech to a bit more degree than ordering food and beer and are looking for something cultural to do. The piece is approaching its eighth year of production.
